Professor Max Munday

Max has research interests in regional economics and policy, Welsh economy, the economics of inward investment, and industrial economics. Max played a major role in the MTEUs of both Objective 1 and Objective 3 and contributed to the Mid-term Evaluations of Objective 1, 3 and INTERREG IIIA. He has also undertaken project work for a range of public sector organisations including European Union, Department for Culture Media and Sport, ESRC, Forestry Commission, WDA, National Museums and Galleries for Wales, Cardiff County Council, Arts Council and National Assembly for Wales and has published in leading regional economics, and policy journals including most recently Papers in Regional Science, Regional Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, Environment and Planning A, Policy Studies, and Journal of Economic and Social Geography.

Max is currently involved in developing tourism satellite accounts for the UK and its regions, and in research examining the productivity spillovers from inward investment, identification of regional industry clusters, and long term structural change in the Welsh economy using input-output tables. Max also has interests in sustainability indicators and environmental Input-Output tables. He is also a member of the Regional Studies Association, the Regional Science Association, and is a regional consultant for Cambridge Econometrics.
