Nia BryerBackground

Nia is an experienced project manager and consultant with over ten years experience in senior roles encompassing policy, strategy and delivery responsibilities.  Having worked in the public and private sectors, Nia has a strong consultancy background and has led a wide range of research commissions for Wales based clients. 

Before joining Old Bell 3 in March 2007 Nia was a Project Manager with the WDA and latterly the Welsh Assembly Government.  She was responsible for developing and delivering two flagship Enterprise Support projects, namely Potentia and Women’s Enterprise Wales.  These all-Wales programmes focused on equality and diversity, pro-actively supporting clients from specific under-represented groups including ethnic minorities, young people, over 50s, Welsh speakers and disabled people.   Prior to joining the WDA, Nia was one of the founding team members of Newidiem, a Cardiff based Policy and Strategy consultancy. 

Whilst at Newidiem, Nia undertook consultancy projects for a number of public and private organisations including the National Assembly for Wales, ELWa, WDA, Wales Tourist Board, various Local Authorities and a number of LEADER groups in Wales. Nia is a first language Welsh speaker and is a School Governor at Ysgol Nantgaredig, Carmarthenshire.

Education

Nia holds a degree in Geography (BSc Econ) from Swansea University.

Consultancy Experience

Nia’s consultancy experience includes a range of formative and summative project evaluations and research commissions.  She has worked for various Welsh Assembly Government Departments including the Equalities and Human Rights Division, the Department for Children, Education and Lifelong Learning and the Department for Economy and Transport as well as the Wales TUC, the Worker’s Educational Association, various Local Authorities and FE colleges.  Nia regularly manages the company’s quantitative research (via paper, web or telephone surveys) and our in-house team of bi-lingual fieldworkers.  Nia is also fully trained to advanced level in SNAP survey software.
